Sikasso is considered Mali’s breadbasket. Learn about the history of the city while visiting places such as the House of Kélétigui, the general of Tiéba and founder of the kingdom; the Mamelon Hill, an artificial hill where the king met the people; the remains of the Tata Wall, which once encircled and protected the city against invasions; the Grotto of Missirikoro, where animist and Muslim worship coexist; and the Senufo Cultural Center, where you will see evidence of the past life of the dominant people of the region.
